Hyperglycemia is blood glucose greater than 120 mg/dL while fasting or postprandial (after food consumption).
Your meal can cause your glucose to spike due to some of the reasons listed below:
Incase the meal that spiked glucose has a combination of 2-3 individual food items, you would need to test out each one of them / a suspect food that spikes your glucose again and again.
For eg. in Chicken rice, generally the suspect is rice due to high GI but in Chicken rice followed by a milk shake there are more items that need to be evaluated as well.
